With a population of 1.3 billion, India is an enormous market in which  worldwide businesses are eager to stake a claim. Yet to date there are fewer than 100 Taiwanese companies in India. Why is that?

Continental Holdings Chairwoman, Nita Ing, observes that as an ancient and diverse country, India exhibits dual charms and burdens. And whilst the market's potential is alluring, it is fraught with risk, and oftentimes unpredictable.
