A call for op-eds for the new leader of Taiwan

By Kwangyin Liu
web only

If Taiwan is to foster greater diversity and openness, crafting a future where everyone can achieve happiness, what transformations must we initiate now?

The CommonWealth English website (https://english.cw.com.tw/) and CommonWealth Magazine's Independent Opinion (獨立評論) (https://opinion.cw.com.tw/) are jointly soliciting op-eds.

This initiative is designed to utilize the upcoming presidential election as a platform to discuss pivotal issues crucial to the delineation of Taiwan's future course.

We are keen to hear your insights on the following topics:

  • Economic development (e.g. labor issues, employment, working poor)

  • Social equality (e.g. gender, economy, diversity & inclusion, aging society)

  • Education

  • Environment

  • International relations

  • Immigration policy

  • And more

In your essay, please delve into your viewpoints and expectations for the forthcoming president, regardless of who that may be. Please limit your piece to 2,000 English words or fewer.

Regardless of your nationality or place of residence, as long as you care about Taiwan’s future, you are eligible.

Submit your article to [email protected] by September 4, 2023. Your article will feature on the CommonWealth English website in October, and a Chinese version is likely to be published on CommonWealth’s “Independent Opinion” website.
