Shares of AI hardware company Supermicro computer surged more than 30% in Premarket trading on Tuesday after the company hired a new auditor and submitted a compliance plan to Nasdaq detailing its efforts to regain compliance with the exchange.
The move comes several weeks after the company's auditor, Ernst & young, resigned following months of disagreement over super Micro computer's Governance practices and board independence.
The company is late in filing its 2024 year-end report with the SEC and said earlier this month that it was looking for a new accountant after its previous auditor, Ernst & young, stepped down in October.
If its filing plan is accepted by Nasdaq, the company will be able to complete its annual report for the year ended June 30 and its quarterly report ended Sept. 30, but did not give a target date.

The US government wants Google to divest its Chrome browser, according to Bloomberg

Top us Justice Department antitrust officials have decided to ask a judge to force Google to sell its Chrome browser in what would be a historic crackdown on one of the world's biggest Tech companies.
The Department will also ask the judge, who ruled in August that Google illegally monopolized the search market, to require measures related to artificial intelligence and its Android Smartphone operating system.
If the judge ACCEPTS the proposals, they have the potential to reshape the Online search market and the burgeoning AI industry.
Google controls how people view the Internet and what ads they see in part through its Chrome browser, which typically uses Google search, gathers information important to Google's ad business, and is estimated to have about two-thirds of the global browser market.
