Nvidia plans to make AI supercomputer in the U.S. for the first time
AI chipmaker Nvidia has announced plans to manufacture its Nvidia AI supercomputers in the U.S. for the first time.
The company has commissioned over a million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test its specialized Blackwell chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas as part of an effort to move a portion of its production to the U.S.
The chipmaker said the production of its Blackwell chips has started at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s chip plants in Phoenix, Arizona, and that Nvidia is building “supercomputer” manufacturing plants in Texas – with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas. Production is expected to ramp up in 12 to 15 months.
In Arizona, Nvidia is Partnering with Amkor Technology Inc. and Siliconware Precision Industries Co. for packaging and testing operations.
The move aligns the AI chip giant, the majority of whose processors are made in Taiwan, with a clutch of tech firms backing the Trump administration’s push for local manufacturing.

Sony hikes PS5 prices by 25% in UK, Europe, and Australia

Sony has announced that it will raise the price of some PlayStation5 consoles in the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, citing "challenging" economic conditions.
PS5 prices will increase by more than 10% in Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia, affecting both the digital edition (without disc readers) and the model with a Blu-Ray player. On the other hand, the price of the disk player sold separately will be revised down.
The price of the PlayStation Pro, more expensive and more efficient, launched in November will not be affected.
The U.S. government has exempted electronics from its sweeping new tariffs on imports to the U.S., but it also indicated that this reprieve would only be temporary while it decided on a tariff regime for the sector.
The "uncertainty" created by U.S. President Donald Trump's changing tariffs policy is putting tech manufacturing supply chains under severe strain, and sparking price rises, experts have said. Manufacturers of electronics are facing headwinds including trade disruption in the wake of the imposition of tariffs by Trump.
Nintendo said earlier this month it is delaying the start of pre-orders for the Switch 2 gaming device in the United States as it examines the potential impact of tariffs.

Samsung suspends the long-awaited update to One UI 7 due to a big bug
(Source: Samsung)
Samsung has stopped its worldwide distribution of One UI 7 and Android 15 updates after months of waiting.
The Galaxy S24 range and the two flip Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 smartphones received a long-awaited update.
However, only a few days after the launch of the update, Samsung has stopped its distribution worldwide.
Samsung distributes Android updates in waves, first to 1% of its users, then 10%, then everyone.
One UI 7 has been available on the Galaxy S25 since its release, but the deployment of the update has lagged behind for the previous models.
After long weeks of waiting, the first devices finally started to receive the new version, but Samsung had to suspend One Ui 7 due to "a serious bug" and slowdowns of the system for some users.
The chaotic development of this version of the overlay, based on Android 15, will necessarily have repercussions on the version that will follow, One UI 8, based on Android 16.
