Nvidia customers notified about AI-related price hikes above 15%
Nvidia, the leading maker of AI chips, is set to increase the prices of Servers containing its chips by more than 15%, in many cases, with memory chip costs soaring, according to Bloomberg.
The price hikes will go into effect on systems shipped early next year and will impact systems including those with the flagship Vera Rubin and grace Blackwell chips.
The exact increase will depend on the chip generation and memory configurations. companies that build Nvidia-Based Servers for major data center operators, including Microsoft, alphabet, and Oracle, have recently started telling their customers of the forthcoming increases, according to the report.

Shein plans to raise $1.8bn in Hong Kong IPO
Fast-fashion retailer Shein is set to debut on the Hong Kong stock exchange on 1 September, with plans to raise up to HKD13.86Bn ($1.7Bn) in a long-awaited listing that would value the group at close to US$27Bn.
The online retailer plans to offer 280 million shares at a price between HKD 47.60 and HKD49.50, raising up to HKD13.86Bn.
The final price will be announced on 31 August, but the higher figure would value the company at around US$26.8Bn. founded in China and now headquartered in Singapore, Shein finally won Beijing’s approval last month to make its initial public offering in Hong Kong. Plans to list in New York and London had been held back in recent years by regulatory hurdles, according to media reports.

Japan backs fusion, recycling startups in $125m public-private funding
Japan's Green Transformation (GX) Acceleration Agency has invested in two start-ups focused on nuclear fusion and plastics recycling, helping to spur a total of JPY 20Bn ($125M) in combined Public-Private funding for the companies.
The investments are part of the government's broader plan to channel JPY 370Tn ($2.3Tn) in public and private money into 17 strategic sectors by fiscal 2040, a key pillar of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's growth and Decarbonization strategy.
The two companies are Kyoto Fusioneering, a Tokyo-based developer of fusion reactor equipment, and Jeplan, a Kawasaki-Based plastics recycling startup. By providing public capital, Japan hopes to encourage additional private-sector investment and accelerate the commercialization of advanced Technologies.
