Intel to keep working on Musk's Terafab chipmaking venture, Bloomberg News reports

Intel will continue to work with Elon Musk on his Terafab project, according to Ceo Lip-Bu Tan.

The announcement was made ahead of an event in Tokyo marking the us chipmaker's 50th year of operations in Japan.

Intel and Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside regular business hours. Last week, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said on X that there were discussions over potential cooperation between Taiwan chip major TSMC and his Chipmaking project, Terafab. A potential involvement by TSMC could likely challenge Intel's role in Terafab, as Musk weighs partners for the Chipmaking venture.

A Screenshot of an article headlined "TSMC exploring plans to work with Elon Musk's Terafab." Musk wrote on Saturday: "just discussions, but something may come of it." A potential involvement by TSMC could likely challenge Intel's role in Terafab, as Musk weighs partners for the Chipmaking venture.

Lithuania could restrict transit from Russia if plague threat confirmed – minister

Reports of Pneumonic plague in Russia have not been independently confirmed, and Lithuania could restrict the transit of Russian citizens through the country if the disease poses a threat to Lithuania. Health Minister Linas Kukuraitis said any such measures would be coordinated with the European Union, which has established procedures for restricting movement during public health emergencies since the Covid-19 pandemic. Reports emerged Friday that 28-Year-Old Darya Shipilova, who worked at a plague research Institute in Russia’s Irkutsk region, had died of Pneumonic plague.

Some reports said special restrictions had subsequently been imposed. The World Health Organization has assessed the risk of the disease spreading beyond Russia as “very low.” The organization reported that it is in contact with Russian authorities. Officially, Russian authorities continue to attribute the death of a female employee at the Anti-Plague Institute to pneumonia of unknown origin.

The plague case occurred in early October. On the night of October 2, a 28-Year-Old lab technician at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute died at a hospital in Shelekhov.

According to local media, she had accidentally broken a test tube containing the Pneumonic plague Pathogen a week earlier.
